Leagues: SANFL Women's League, Coates Talent League Girls

Aprille Crooks has played just about any position she can over the last few seasons, coming from the Apple Isle where she represented Tasmania Devils, before missing out on the draft, dominating for South Launceston and then heading across to North Adelaide where she fronted up as a forward, defender then midfielder for the Roosters.

As a forward, Crooks showed she has potential by winning the league best and fairest and leading goalkicker with 34 goals in 16 games for the Bulldogs in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA). That form did not quite translate over to SANFLW level, where Crooks did not kick a goal in her stint up there across the first six rounds, where she also missed a game due to injury.

Crooks returned to take up a role in defence - where she had played for the Devils - and looked good, then even had a crack in midfield for the last fortnight, averaging 22 disposals, 6.5 tackles, 4.0 clearances and 2.0 marks an an impressive stint. Her athleticism - mainly her explosive speed and agility - stands out on the field, and she reads the play well to be able to get into good positions.

Her aerial ability is one area where the 170cm utility can improve, as well as her game-to-game consistency. However it looks like at the higher levels, that a defender/midfielder role might be the best spot for Crooks, though being able to play across all three lines makes her super versatile. She has the talent that would attract club interest, and is happy to go anywhere having nominated nationally.
