Brayden LaPlanche is one of those rare players who tasted action at both ends of the field this year, playing up forward early in the season before shifting back into defence to close out Eastern's Coates Talent League campaign. LaPlanche's versatility is an important trait for clubs looking at a medium-tall player who can play on a variety of opponents.
While his production numbers are not huge, he has great power which he can use to burst away from defence, or explode for a high mark. Boasting a penetrating kick to-boot, LaPlanche was named co-captain of the Eastern Ranges in 2023. He booted 13 goals in 10 games playing forward, then averaged 5.4 rebound 50s from 15.2 disposals in defence. His dynamism will appeal as a rookie option.
