PROFILE:

Standing at 185cm, Caitlin Reid is an imposing player to matchup on for any ruck, and after a number of years dominating the AFL Sydney Women's Premier Division for East Coast Eagles, took the chance to test herself in Victoria for Geelong's VFLW side. While the Cats did not have the best season and Reid ended up playing just the six games, she showed he had the capacity to take her game to the next level.

For a player of her size, Reid is naturally very good at her ruck craft, and is more than capable of sharking it out of the ruck and bombing it forward too. But what stands out as a point of difference compared to others, is Reid's follow-up work and mainly her defensive pressure. She lays a lot of tackles for a ruck, and is not afraid to get her hands dirty at ground level.

While Reid is not as adept at winning the ball cleanly at ground level, she will put pressure on the opposition, and though she can improve some elements of her execution such as precision with her kicking, is comfortable extracting the ball from the coalface out to a teammate. A readymade ruck option who can also play forward.
