Geelong Falcons spearhead Daniel Lowther showed enough to earn a state draft combine invite come season's end, having kicked 18 goals in 13 games for the minor premiers. The 199cm key forward showcased good mobility on the lead and strong marking prowess which formed the crux of his game.
Lowther produced seven multiple-goal games throughout the season, including a high of three against Gippsland Power in Round 12. He finished the campaign strongly with hauls of 2.4 and 2.2 in the Falcons' final two games, also taking a combined nine marks between either performance.
Having been held goalless just thrice, Lowther consistently hit the scoreboard, but could have been a little more consistent throughout four quarters each week. Improving his running capacity will help him utilise his strengths more often and be an effective secondary ruck, as he was for the Falcons this year.
