St Kilda is set to benefit from having several club-tied draft prospects in 2024, one of them being Elwood Peckett. Connected to the Saints via father-son eligibility (son of Justin, 252 games), the 186cm midfielder-forward burst onto the scene in 2024.

Peckett was named in the Dandenong Stingrays' leadership group and had been flagged as one to watch in preseason. He well and truly broke out with a massive performance against Murray Bushrangers in Round 17, amassing 25 disposals, nine marks and five goals.

While he couldn't quite crack Vic Country selection, Peckett continued to be a mainstay for the Stingrays and elevated his game when star names were unavailable due to representative commitments. His size and power are assets at the contest, while he also gets stuck in defensively and has a knack for finding the goals from obscure angles and distances.

In terms of improvement areas, endurance is certainly one. Peckett is capable of covering the ground nicely and chaining possessions, but will need to build a better running base to play full-time midfield. He could also be a little more composed and consistent with his delivery going inside 50, but often gets it right when shooting on goal.
