Leagues: AFL U18 Championships
STRENGTHS:
+ Aerial ability
+ Mobility
+ Versatility
+ Vertical leap
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Consistency
- Strength
Glenelg's Harry Francis found his place as a forward/ruck in the Under 18s side this season, booting 12 goals from 10 games, and averaging 13.6 disposals, 4.9 marks and 20.2 hitouts. At 195cm he is undersized for a ruck at AFL level, but could play that secondary pinch-hit role effectively, while also capable of swinging down back.
Francis' athleticism, mainly his vertical jump, literally leaps off the page, recording a 95cm running jump at the State Draft Combine. That helps his aerial ability, and though there is much more to the game, he has shown his ability to make his mark known in contests.
He will need to further develop his strength as a lighter bodied key position player, and unfortunately only had the one touch at the AFL Under 18 Championships, but has shown signs at SANFL Under 18s level that could see him progress to the AFL. His ability to play across each line will appeal.
DRAFT RANGE: Late/Rookie
