Acting as a third tall, Jacob Grant gave AFL clubs a taste of what he was capable of early in the season, kicking eight goals across three games to announce himself as a goalkicking option. At 193cm, Grant is a little undersized, but has the work rate and mobility to make up for it, while also being strong in the air. He is essentially a hard working, strong marking key position player, in a third tall frame.

Grant has some nice footy IQ to go with his strong hands, as well as a penetrating kick. He uses it to either hit the scoreboard himself or assist others, and in the second half of the Talent League season, began to find more of the ball. Grant's consistency is the main concern, going from the highs of consecutive 17 disposals and the lows of three four-or-less disposal games. Still, he has developable traits for the top level.
