Kai Windsor enjoyed a really solid year for Eastern Ranges in the NAB League, culminating in a call-up to Vic Metro. While he did not get the same amount of time in his preferred midfield role, Windsor still looked neat with ball-in-hand, and had some nice moments as he did in the Ranges colours. In 2022, Windsor averaged 18 disposals and four marks, often playing a midfield role then rotating forward. Known for his bursts from stoppages and kicking inside 50, he tended to put pressure on opposition defences with his acceleration.

Windsor has those athletic traits that catch the eye, with his powerful burst and evasive skills to sidestep opponents in the contest. Though he did play in the thick of it a fair bit, he was not necessarily a first-disposal winner, instead receiving the handball and using his acceleration to burn off an opponent and kick forward. His decision making was generally sound, and when on, could do a lot of damage with his skills.

Despite being a pretty solid midfielder, Windsor's kicking, like his week-to-week game could waiver a little. He always tended to kick to the right spots, but sometimes would rush and fall short, whilst in terms of overall game, would have 30 touches one week, 13 the next. If he can bridge that gap and perhaps add an extra contested element, then watch out.
