The son of former Fremantle player Andrew Shipp, who played under the required 100 games for father-son qualification (35), Kobe is looking to forge his own path in an open draft. The Dandenong Stingrays runner has some nice all-round athleticism from speed to his vertical leap, and that helps him settle into a half-back or wing role.

A natural outside asset, Shipp reads the play well behind the ball and can explode going forward, often looking to take off and gain metres for his side. At times he can be haphazardous with his ball movement, which is an area of improvement for the well-spoken talent. His endurance is another area that could improve further, but Shipp's footballing qualities of reading the play, intercepting and finding his share of the ball make him a draftable prospect.
