An athletic talent with upside, Western Jets utility Lachlan McArthur enjoyed a roaring finish to the Talent League season, earning him a State Draft Combine invite. He went from a season-high 10 disposals at the midpoint of the season to several 16-plus disposal games in the run home. The key move was the switch from attack to defence, where after kicking 13 goals in the opening 15 rounds, he translated his eye-catching athleticism to the back 50.

His ability to leap high and take the ball in flight, then burst away showed off his flair became hallmarks of McArthur's game. The 17-year-old is not a high production player, but has high impact per possession, and once he is able to build up his endurance further, he should be ale to impact for longer. A rough and late prospect, McArthur has those weapons that will attract clubs and looks like somewhat of a classic late developer, being born in December.
