Michael Kiraly is a Mr Fix It of sorts in the sense that he can fill a variety of roles. Though he settled into the Pioneers' defensive half for most of the NAB League season, Kiraly did roll through the midfield, and ended up with stints inside 50. Overall his best position seems to be behind the ball, because his strengths lend themselves to that role.

Kiraly is a player who is not afraid to take the game on. He will back himself and look to run off half-back and try and break down opposition zones. He is more than competitive aerially, strong for a 184cm player, whilst having the footy IQ and awareness to position himself in the right spots. Kiraly can often win a lot of ball when pushing up the ground, and it leads him to having an impact in that sense, but there are still areas he needs to tighten up.

The main area to improve for Kiraly is his disposal under pressure and general consistency in that area. The Pioneers talent can do a lot of magical things with ball-in-hand, but he can also produce a fair few turnovers, particularly when under heat. It is a risk-against-reward game for Kiraly, and if he can iron out those deficiencies, then his strengths can lend themselves to being an aggressive runner around the field.
