Summary
SNAPSHOT: “A classy and skilful wing/forward who thrived in the latter this season with 22 goals in 17 games.”
Zoe Vozzo has transformed her game from being a hard-running winger to a damaging forward, diversifying her profile and looming as a terrific value selection in this year’s AFLW Draft. The Eastern Ranges and Vic Metro talent kept bobbing up when needed throughout 2025 and earned a State Draft Combine at year’s end.
Also a talented cricketer, Vozzo’s football journey goes back to 2018 when she first ran out for 13 games with Wantirna South in the Eastern Region Female Football League. She would begin to hit the scoreboard more consistently the following year and got in 29 games prior to the global pandemic. A further 11 upon return, Vozzo’s big season in front of goal came in 2022.
Playing for the Under 16s at Wantirna South, Vozzo slammed home 27 goals from 17 games, while also making her Under 18s debut for the club at 15 years of age. She got on the radar of the Eastern Ranges and was able to play through the Futures squads and then Vic Metro’s Under 16s campaign, before making her Coates Talent League debut in Round 12 of the 2023 season.
While just the five touches, one mark and four tackles that day, Vozzo showed her defensive attributes and potential upside. She returned to Wantirna South where she booted another 22 goals in 13 games through the Under 16s, played a second game at Under 18s level and even made her senior debut in the 4th Division where she kicked a goal.
An eight-goal haul in Round 2 against Norwood was the peak of her local season, playing a total of five games – for 13 goals – across the Under 18s and senior level. At Coates Talent League, Vozzo kicked eight goals but had become known for being a hard-running wing. She averaged 9.7 disposals, 2.0 marks and 2.4 tackles across 14 games, building up nicely to 2025.
In her top-age season, Vozzo started as a wing but eventually went back inside 50 where she was able to star, booting 16 goals in a premiership year – including a key role on grand final day – from 13 games, while averaging 9.4 disposals, 1.5 marks, 3.9 tackles and 1.2 goals. At the national carnival, she was a clear standout general forward with six goals from four games, while having 6.3 touches and 2.8 tackles including the goal of the carnival with an over the head kick with her back to the goals.

STRENGTHS:
+ Kicking
+ Goal sense
+ Impact-per-possession
+ X-factor
+ Run-and-carry
+ Defensive pressure
+ Scoreboard impact
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Aerial work
- Groundballs
- Production
Vozzo's time on the wing and dedication to her craft meant the Eastern Ranges talent knows how to use the ball and have a high impact-per-possession style be it up the ground or inside 50. She is not a high production player - even as a wing - but what Vozzo does with ball in hand is a delight. Able to hit up targets going forward, or read the ball well to hit the scoreboard, she slots into either role and despite having less than 10 touches per game, can leave spectators remembering most of them.
When given the opportunity, Vozzo is happy to take the game on and back herself, and she showed just that when on a wing. While clearly a massive offensive threat - hitting the scoreboard and consistently setting up her teammates - Vozzo is also very strong defensively, and will apply pressure to the opposition. Her work both ways is admirable, and given the likelihood of her starting forward - or even just becoming a pure forward - at the next level, having that defensive mindset is very important.
What stands out about Vozzo's ability inside 50 is that she does not have one method of hurting the opposition on the scoreboard. she can lead out and mark, or get goalside and run onto it, or even receive the handball and snap a truly spectacular major. On quite a few occasions, as soon as she was within range and her teammates gave her the ball, it was 'put your glasses down' kind of areas.
In saying all that, Vozzo is still developing both her aerial and groundlevel craft. The latter has noticeably developed throughout the 2025 season, but is a continual focus, while her aerial work as a lighter player will be helped by being in an elite program in the future. She might not win a lot of the ball and she can further develop ways of obtaining it, but the class factor is evident and she has taken her game to another level this season.
Overall, Vozzo is a really natural footballer who can hurt teams offensively or defensively, kick plenty of goals, or set up her teammates. A well-rounded player with some nice upside for the future, Vozzo is someone that clubs will have their eye on in the second half of the draft.

SUMMARY:
Zoe Vozzo is one of a number of players who will be in the mix through the second half of the AFLW Draft. Without too many flaws and some serious traits, the talented wing/forward knows how to use the ball once she has it in her possession. With further development she will only get better, so watch for her as one to improve rapidly with even more focus on her game.
