WBBL10 fixture revealed

THE fixture for the upcoming 10th edition of the WBBL has been released today, with plenty for fans to get excited about.

WBBL10 will be shorter than WBBL09 was, but will still be a 40 game regular season, which is in line with how long the MBBL is. Each team will play 10 regular season games as opposed to 14, with each team set to play three others twice.

The season will begin on October 27 with a double header at Adelaide Oval, with a Grand Final rematch between the Strikers and the Heat followed by a clash between the Renegades and Sixers.

That is not all the action for the opening night as later in the evening the Perth Scorchers will host the Melbourne Stars, then the Hurricanes and Thunder will open their campaigns on day two of the season.

Neutral venue clashes that have been a staple of the fixture for a long time are still a feature in the regular season, but not in the finals series.

The finals structure itself has not changed, but there are no longer any neutral ground finals.

The sides that finish third and fourth will meet in The Knockout on November 27 – which will be hosted by the third ranked side – before the side that finishes second hosts the winner of that in The Challenger on November 29. Whoever wins The Challenger will then go on to play the top ranked side at their home ground in The Final on December 1.
