England Squad for South Africa Series Revealed
OVERNIGHT in Australian time, the England Roses announced their squad for their last international series for 2023, the series against South Africa next month.
Among the squad of 14 is a mix of youth and experience.
A large percentage of the squad for this series against South Africa also went to New Zealand in September to take part in the Taini Jamison Trophy.
Halimat Adio, Amy Carter, Sasha Glasgow, Hannah Joseph, Berri Neil, Jayda Pechova, Ellie Rattu and Alicia Scholes are in both squads.
Of those who went to the Taini Jamison Trophy, Ella Bowen, Sophie Drakeford-Lewis, Alice Harvey, Elle McDonald, Vicki Oyesola and Emma Thacker will not be playing this series.
The additions to this squad from the Taini Jamison Trophy Squad certainly provide plenty of experience. The additions are Imogen Allison, Eleanor Cardwell, Funmi Fadoju, Razia Quashie, Olivia Tchine and Fran Williams.
However, there are a few big names missing from this squad.
Helen Housby and Natalie Metcalf are both taking extended breaks after the World Cup and were therefore unavailable for selection for this series. Meanwhile, due to injuries, George Fisher and Laura Malcolm are also unavailable for this series.
