An often underrated goaler with the Roses, Cardwell is one of those goalers who can hold her ground as a holding shooter but also use her clean footwork to apply pressure on her defender and open up space in the goal circle. With volume and accuracy to match, Cardwell is a real team player, allowing her teammates to shine while also creating plenty of opportunity to  get on the board and form a crucial part of the team. Cardwell’s Manchester Thunder side won the VNSL grand final in 2019 with Cardwell taking centre stage in the final quarter, shooting her side to glory.  Still fairly young, Cardwell will have plenty of opportunity to take on a starting spot at the Roses in the coming years thanks to her constant drive to improve and utter determination to get hands to ball.
