A crafty mover with plenty of versatility, there is no doubt tenacious midcourter Amy Sligar is more than up to the job of a midcourt role with the GIANTS during season 2022. While she only had limited court time in 2021, the youngster showcased her willingness to contest time and time again, producing a couple of highlights that proved how capable she is of stepping up to the elite level. Her endurance and quick feet are paramount to her game, using her smarts and vision to apply continuous pressure, whether in wing defence or centre, and has little issue finding the ball. It is safe to say that Sligar has shown plenty of composure with ball in hand while coming up the pathways, always being a safe option with her great work rate and ability to find space.
While still a somewhat raw prospect, Sligar will benefit hugely from the tutelage of Jamie-Lee Price and Amy Parmenter, with the GIANTS' focus on midcourt defenders a great opportunity for the young talent. Her hunt and intent were showcased out on court and she has clearly proved she has the ceiling to grow better as an all-rounder through the midcourt with greater court time at SSN level. With the aerial ability to consistently impact both on and off the ball, Sligar's athletic ability will bode well for game time opportunities and further growth.
