Young Queensland prospect Mia Stower is a great developing goal attack, looking to further her craft in 2022 with a maiden Queensland Firebirds senior contract. The emerging talent has spent time with the Firebirds for a couple of years in a training partner capacity, steadily working at her court craft and accuracy and showcasing her ability to play her role within the team environment. With a great netball brain and scoring ability to boot, Stower will look to provide a third prong to the Firebirds' attack line in 2022 and add an extra playmaking element to the front-end. Her ability to score quickly and efficiently is credit to her no nonsense approach to the game, with her ability to weave in and out of the chaos and find space a big benefit to the squad.
What Stower does well is use her read of the play to anticipate ball placement and position accordingly, able to both take control in the goal circle or allow her goal shooter to take centre stage. Standing at 182cm tall, Stower is a good mid-range height with great acceleration and footwork to continuously reposition and impact both on and off the ball. Her willingness to take the hard road showcases her workrate and readiness to jump into SSN action, with plenty of room to further develop her goaling and playmaking craft, especially with greater opportunity to take the court.
