PREVIEW | NSL 2024 Round 1 – New era, new look teams, same goal

TODAY is the day. Later today, the English netball community will once again descend on Nottingham to begin the 2024 Netball Super League season.

In a move that is perhaps uniquely Super League, much of the league moved clubs in the offseason, which creates a whole lot of unpredictability heading into the new season. Not even the 2023 champions Loughborough Lightning were able to avoid the carnage, with a few of their key title-winning squad members no longer at the club.

It is an exciting time in English netball at the moment, but also a time where plenty could happen. In the build up to a fully professional era in the next few years, this season is all about garnering momentum and building towards that new dawn.

As part of that build towards a new era of professionalism, things have changed with regards to how fans can watch the league.

For those in the UK:

  • Sky Sports will be showing all of this weekend’s Season Opener matches, the Semi Final Play Offs and the Grand Final, plus one game every home and away round on their Youtube channel.
  • The BBC will be showing one game from every home and away round on BBC IPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

For those outside the UK:

  • NetballPass will be showing all of this weekend’s Season Opener matches, two games every home and away round, the Semi Finals and the Grand Final. A season pass will set you back £39.95, or you can buy a round pass for £2.95.
