Thunder trusting the status quo ahead of 2024

MANCHESTER Thunder became the penultimate side to finalise their 2024 Netball Super League squad, with a few new faces set to don the yellow dress in 2024.

There are eight members of the 2023 third place finishing side that are returning to the side in 2024.

Lois Pearson, Amy Carter, Taylor McKevitt, Natalie Metcalf, Ella Bowen, Shadine Van der Merwe, Josie Huckle and Kerry Almond are all donning the yellow dress again next season.

Most of the new faces to the Thunder next season are shooters, but they have come from both near and far to join the club.

Anya Williams is one of the new shooters and is only 16 years old, but has come through the Thunder pathway system and was recently a member of the English team at the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Paige Reed has also joined the Thunder ahead of next season, and makes the move across from the Rhinos.

One signing that has got a lot of fans excited is Elmere van der Berg, with the South African making the move to the Super League.

The only new face that is not a shooter is Imogen Allison, with the Roses midcourter moving across from Team Bath.

These new faces mean that Elia McCormick, Yasmin Roebuck, Amy Clinton Iona Christian and Lenize Potgieter are all not coming back to Manchester in 2024.

Unlike many of the clubs the Thunder are yet to reveal who their training partners are for 2024, so fans still need to keep an eye out for that announcement no doubt due soon.
