ABN AMRO WORLD TENNIS TOURNAMENT:

The first ATP 500 event of the month kicked off in Rotterdam, with largely one-sided results. None of the four matches went the full distance, with only Jo-Wilfried Tsonga taking his opponent (Hubert Hurkacz) into a tiebreaker. Sixth seed Cameron Norrie brushed aside Ugo Humbert, dropping just six games, but it will still closer than Mackenzie McDonald‘s win over Nikoloz Basilashvili (five games) and Alex de Minaur‘s steamrolling David Goffin (three).

DALLAS OPEN:

Just two main draw matches took place in Dallas, both of which featured American talents. Eighth seed Brandon Nakashima got past tireless worker John Millman 7-5 7-6, coming back from a break down in the second set to close out the match. The youngster provided some joy for the home crowd, with Sam Querrey ousted by fellow big server, South African veteran Kevin Anderson, in straight sets.

ARGENTINA OPEN:
Buenos Aires | ATP 250 | Clay
The Argentinian clay continued at Buenos Aires this week, with the first five Round of 32 matches completed. Fifth seed Dusan Lajovic defeated Benoit Paire in a tight three sets, whilst Miomir Kecmanovic continued his form from the Australian Open to get past compatriot and eighth seed Laslo Djere. In other results, Argentinian duo Federico Coria and qualifier Francisco Cerundolo both won, as did Spaniard Fernando Verdasco.

WTA TOUR
ST PETERSBURG LADIES TROPHY:
St Petersburg, Russia | WTA 500 | Hard
It was a good day out on court for the seeds at St Petersburg, with fans getting getting money’s worth. All four matches went to three sets before the higher-ranked opponent in each match prevailed. Eighth seed Elise Mertens perhaps had the best win by topping in-form Alize Cornet in three sets, whilst second seed Anett Kontaveit saw off Swiss talent Jil Teichmann. Belinda Bencic flew the flag for Switzerland in her win over Veronika Kudermetova, whilst Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova won against Camila Giorgi in front of home fans.
