ATP TOUR
ABN AMRO WORLD TENNIS TOURNAMENT:

There were plenty of Top 50 players in action at Rotterdam, with the Round of 32 completed, and the Round of 16 underway. Italian young gun Lorenzo Musetti caused the upset of the day with a three-set win over fourth seed Hubert Hurkacz. He joined Cameron Norrie and Alex de Minaur in the quarter finals after winning their respective second round matches. Third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime got up in a tough three sets over Belarusian qualifier Egor Gerasimov, whilst Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik went down in his first match since his title win in Montpellier, losing to British wildcard Andy Murray.

DALLAS OPEN:

The Dallas Open was running a little late on the day, with four matches completed and another two to go at the time of publishing. Seventh seed Marcos Giron booked his place in the quarter finals, though his American compatriot was not as fortunate, with eighth seed Brandon Nakashima going down to Jordan Thompson. Fifth seed Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Italian Andreas Seppi also booked their spots in the next round, though the second round.

Four Round of 16 matches were completed on the clay at Buenos Aries, with a split result for the home nation representatives. Both played seeds, with Federico Coria toppling fifth seed Dusan Lajovic, whilst wildcard Sebastian Baez went down to Lorenzo Sonego. In other results, top seed Casper Ruud won in a tight two-set match over Roberto Carballes Baena, and Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco booked his quarter finals spot with a come-from-behind win over Brazilian Thiago Monteiro.

ST PETERSBURG LADIES TROPHY:

The first of the St Petersburg quarter finalists have been decided, with the top two players in Maria Sakkari and Anett Kontaveit moving through in straight sets. The pair defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova and Sorana Cirstea respectively, whilst fifth seed Belinda Bencic proved too strong for Slovenian young gun Kaja Juvan. Belgian Elise Mertens had the only tough match of the day, fighting through three sets to put away Croatian Petra Martic. Meanwhile third seed Elena Rybakina completed her first round match with a regulation win over young Russian Varvara Gracheva.
