Player of the Week: TAC Cup – Round 11
HE has become known for kicking multiple goals, and in Round 12, Charlie Wilson piled on half a dozen in the Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels’ victory over Bendigo Pioneers. Wilson’s bag was enough to see him awarded the AFL Draft Central TAC Cup Player of the Week, in what was the closest poll yet between the half-forward and bottom-age midfielder Caleb Serong.
Wilson polled 52 per cent of the vote from 861 votes to just take out the nomination ahead of the Power midfielder. In his game, Wilson notched up 17 disposals, clunked five marks, had three inside 50s and booted six goals in a clear best on ground performance. He becomes the first Rebels player to earn a nomination this season, and the fourth Country player to do so.
