Stats Leaders: 2022 NAB League Girls – Round 10

INTERCEPT marking machine Georgia Foran was up to her old tricks, as Round 10 of the NAB League Girls season brought an end to the home-and-away fixtures. There were plenty more players who also rose to the occasion this past weekend, find out who as we take a look at all of this week’s stats leaders.

Foran clunked seven intercepts among her round-high eight marks, but could not quite inspire Sandringham Dragons to a win over Greater Western Victoria. The top-ager defender also topped the rebound 50s charts with 11, surpassing her incredible season average of 8.7.

Teammate Sofia Hurley was similarly prolific in a ball winning sense. While Murray’s Keeley Skepper topped the disposal tally for Round 10 with 30, Hurley racked up 23 kicks among her 29 touches. 2006-born Geelong talent Sara Howley also had an outstanding weekend, matching Hurley’s kicking feats.

Good form is key on the eve of finals, and Montana Ham has plenty of that behind her. The Western midfielder was dominant for her unbeaten 16 handballs, despite the best efforts of Eastern Ranges players like Jade Hutchinson who laid a high of 10 tackles, alongside Gippsland’s Indiana Makai.

Round 10 saw a few top-age guns get back to their bottom-age best, and Dandenong’s Emily Shepherd was one such player. She spent plenty of time deep inside 50 and took full toll with five goals – her clear best haul for the season. Elsewhere, the top hitout spot was shared by Lauren Jatczak (Northern) and Ellie Sbeghen (Calder) as both players won 24.
