2023 RM Central SANFLW Team of the Year: Full Squad

A TOTAL of 48 of the SANFL Women’s top players from the 2023 season have been named in the annual Rookie Me Central SANFL Women’s Team of the Year squad. The 48 players will be split into a first and second team, based around the Team of the Week nominations.

Central District is the most represented club with eight players, ahead of third placed Norwood and reigning premiers North Adelaide with seven apiece. The evenness of both minor premiers South Adelaide and finalists Sturt was on display all season, with the six representatives. Glenelg and West Adelaide boast five players named in the squad, with Woodville-West Torrens having four.

Among those nominees are six club captains, as well as 12 State Academy members. Only three AFLW-listed players made the squad, as to qualify, a player must have played a minimum of seven SANFL Women’s matches in the 2023 season.

Headlining the top-age players for 2023 are Lauren Young (West Adelaide), Shineah Goody (Woodville-West Torrens), Piper Window (Glenelg), Elaine Grigg (Central District) and Brooke Boileau (South Adelaide).

The final Rookie Me Central Team of the Year featuring 24 players will be announced on Thursday.
