Final 2023 AFLW 22Under22 Squad Revealed

AFTER an initial squad was released a few weeks ago, the AFL Players Association has released its final AFLW 22Under22 Squad for 2023.

After a remarkable season in 2023, it is unsurprising that Sydney is the team with the most players in the final squad, with Lucy McEvoy, Ally Morphett, Laura Gardiner and Ella Heads all making the team for the first time.

Reigning premiers Melbourne has the next highest number of players included with three – Tahlia Gillard, Alyssa Bannan and Eliza McNamara – while two Suns, Cats, Giants and Crows also all made the squad.

2023 marks the third selection in the squad for Georgie Prespakis, Nina Morrison and Charlie Rowbottom, and remarkably Prespakis and Rowbottom are still eligible for two more years so they are still in the running to equal and then take over the record for most number of selections in the 22Under22 squad, currently held by Madison Prespakis and Monique Conti.
