MORE representative action is on the menu on Saturday with the top Tasmanian talent going head-to-head against a combined AFL Sydney and AFL Canberra outfit down on the Apple Isle. The clashes, which take place at UTAS Stadium in Launceston are part of a massive quartet of matches at the venue.

The women’s match between Tasmania and Sydney/Canberra kicks off from 2:30pm, with the equivalent men’s match taking place from 4:45pm. Earlier in the day, both Tasmania Devils Under 18s programs play at the venue against the Western Jets, with the girls from 9:45am and the boys kicking off at 11:55am.

WOMEN’S:

There are a host of ex-AFLW players in the women’s match including former Giant Zara Hamilton, and former Roos, twins Chloe and Libby Haines. Among the other names to watch are Clarence’s Jemma Webster and Penguin’s Shania Saward who are both Devils graduates, while Caitlin Reid and Olivia Fogarty have both had interest from AFLW clubs.

In the men’s match, Tasmania has plenty of former Devils, while also having over-ager Oscar Van Dam making the lineup having gained some traction with fantastic state league form for North Launceston. Brandon Leary and Harrison Gunther are among other past junior players who have remained strong state league players on the Apple Isle.

For AFL Canberra/Sydeny, Tye Gander has been thereabouts with his performances at national championships level, while Ethan Grace can be a threat up forward and Thomas Simpson roaming through the midfield.
