  • Geelong Falcons
  • Bendigo Pioneers

Sunday, August 4
Avalon Airport Oval | @ 11:00am

FORM:

Geelong Falcons suffered defeat at the hands of Tasmania Devils in the wet last week to make it back-to-back losses after falling to the Chargers. They had won a couple prior to that, but Round 15 is the first time they play the Pioneers. Bendigo started like a house on fire winning its first three matches, before crashing back to the pack and have now lost eight on the trot.

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Geelong Falcons:

The Falcons will look to finish off the last few weeks strong, with Sara Howley and Stella Huxtable in great form ahead of Vic Country’s final clash next week, while Mekah Morrissy and Chloe Bryant have spent time on both the inside and outside. Up forward, Seisia White and Rebecca Clottey will bring the heat, though the Falcons will be without Hayley Peck who had Young Guns duties.

Bendigo Pioneers:

Bendigo will welcome the return of star midfielder Lou Painter who returns after missing the game against the Northern Knights last week. She will team up well with the likes of Jemmika Douglas and Olivia Lacy who provide valuable run and carry, while the contested marking ability of Alexis Gregor, Sienna Hobbs and Sasha Pearce is a point of difference on all three lines.

PREDICTION

Geelong Falcons have that bit more experience and depth, and while they have lost their past two, are still in the better form of the two sides, so Geelong should be able to bounce back with a win and aim to finish the year strong ahead of finals.
