OTHER ROUND 5 RESULTS:
North Adelaide has already surpassed its total win tally from 2024, with a 35-point victory over Central District. The Roosters not only moved to a 3-2 record but slotted into third on the table and already are better off from a win-loss perspective than their two-win, wooden spoon-winning year last season. In the victory, the Roosters were able to keep the Dogs at arms-length before kicking clear in the second half with five goals to two in an 8.9 (57) to 3.4 (22) triumph.
Midfielder Julia Clark had a day out with 32 disposals, eight marks, two tackles, six clearances, four inside 50s, three rebound 50s and two goals in arguably her best game in the league – though she has had plenty – to guide the Roosters to victory.
She was well supported by Djimila Totham (22 disposals, two marks, three tackles, six clearances, four inside 50s and one rebound 50), as Ella Metcalfe (22 disposals, eight marks – two contested – three tackles and two rebound 50s) and Jamie Parish (17 disposals, eight marks and seven rebound 50s) were outstanding from the back half. Aprille Crooks (two goals) and Sasha Hardin (22 disposals) also impressed.
For Central District, co-skipper Laitiah Huynh and the reliable Karissa Searle each had 18 touches and five clearances, with Dakota Williams (18 disposals, six tackles and four clearances) fierce as always. Working hard up the ground, Katelyn Rosenzweig finished with 1.2 from 15 disposals, seven marks – one contested – three inside 50s and three rebound 50s in the loss.
North Adelaide faces its biggest test next weekend up against the unbeaten Eagles at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval, while Central District takes on West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium in what is a massive clash for both sides.

South Adelaide produced a more comfortable win – albeit thanks to a late charge – to put away Glenelg and remain in second spot on the SANFL Women’s ladder. The Panthers went scoreless in the opening term as the Bays brought the energy, though South quickly overtook them with a four goals to nil second term. Neck-and-neck at the last change, the Panthers booted three goals to nil in the final stanza to record a 16-point win.
The ruck duo of Soriah Moon and Taya Maxwell was simply sensational, as the pair combined for 41 disposals, 42 hitouts, 13 clearances and 11 tackles in the win. Jaslynne Smith was rock solid in defence once again thanks to 19 disposals, five marks and four rebound 50s, while Caitlin Couch supported the backs well, and the bottom-age duo of Emma Charlton and Layla Vizgaudis shone for another week.
For the Bays, it was no surprise to see the ever-reliable Jessica Bates bringing her own ball to the game, recording 32 touches, nine marks – one contested – six clearances, five inside 50s and two rebound 50s. Youngsters Asha Dufour and Georgie Fielder tried hard, while skipper Samantha Franson brought the pressure and drove the ball forward consistently.
Glenelg hosts its Anzac Day clash this year against Norwood on Friday in search of its first win, while South Adelaide has an extended nine-day break until heading to Unley where it takes on fourth placed Sturt.

Woodville-West Torrens is firing on all cylinders at the moment, working hard off a strong first term to fend-off a determined West Adelaide by three goals. The Bloods kept the Eagles to their lowest score of the season and conceded just two goals after quarter time, but it was not enough after that dominant first quarter with the ladder leaders winning, 6.4 (40) to 3.4 (22).
In-form midfielder Christina Leuzzi looms as the major challenger to Bates when it comes to league best and fairest votes at the end of the season, with the tough onballer having another big day of 20 disposals, eight tackles, 10 clearances and four inside 50s. She had plenty of friends helping her though with Marlie Fiegert (17 disposals, two goals), Lucy Moore (17 disposals, eight clearances) and Poppy Waterford (15 disposals, eight tackles, five inside 50s and a goal) all busy while Leah Cutting (32 hitouts, from 14 disposals) again a standout in the ruck.
West skipper Madison Russell clunked five marks – two contested – and had six rebound 50s from 19 disposals in a captain’s performance against the flow. Usual suspects Zoe Venning (28 disposals, give marks and six clearances) and Emily Mableson (17 disposals, seven tackles and four clearances) were fantastic, as over-age prospects Ruby Ballard and Emma Kilpatrick both hit the scoreboard from 13 disposals.
Woodville-West Torrens looks to make it half a dozen straight wins when it hosts North Adelaide at home on Saturday, while West Adelaide needs to snap a three-game losing streak against Central District at Hisense Stadium on the same day.
