2025 AFLW Team Preview: North Melbourne

NORTH Melbourne completed a near-perfect season last year with a draw to Geelong the only blemish for the Roos as they went undefeated throughout the entire year to win their first premiership. With minimal changes to the list, expect North Melbourne to be thereabouts once again in 2025.

ONES TO WATCH
Key Player: Jasmine Garner
Breakout Potential: Taylah Gatt
New Recruit: Eilish Sheerin
One of the best players in the competition, Jasmine Garner finds a way to standout in a star-studded lineup. Though the umpires tend to ignore her, no one else does, with Garner a match-winner and as damaging as anyone else in the league. Wing Taylah Gatt is a high impact-per-possession player, and now established in the side, can take her game to another level in her fourth season. Ex-Tiger Eilish Sheerin is a readymade player and to walk into this side makes the Roos all that more scary for the opposition.

PREDICTION
North Melbourne is premiership favourite for a reason. The Roos won the flag last season and considering on paper the list has appeared to get stronger, then realistically the Roos should be the team to beat. No side has won back-to-back AFLW flags as of yet, so North Melbourne could be breaking the glass ceiling.
