2024 AFLPA AFLW 22 Under 22 Final Team Revealed
THE AFL Player’s Association (AFLPA) has announced the final team for the 2024 AFLW 22 Under 22 team, with plenty of new faces in the final team.
Port Adelaide leads the way with four players making the final team, with crosstown rivals Adelaide not far behind with three players in the final team. Geelong, Gold Coast, Melbourne and West Coast were the other clubs to get multiple players into the squad, but no one from Essendon, Fremantle, Richmond, St Kilda or Sydney made the final team.
There are 10 first time members of the squad, one of which is the only first year player Lucy Cronin. Among the other first time team members are Abbey Dowrick, Zoe Prowse, Mimi Hill and Charlotte Mullins.
Eight members of the 2024 team have made their second team in a row. This includes Matilda Scholz, Zarlie Goldsworthy, Tahlia Gillard and Alice O’Loughlin.
Jasmine Fleming has also made her second team, but returns to the team after making the Season 7 side but not the 2023 side.
Giant Tarni Evans is the only three time member of the team, having now made it three seasons in a row.
However, there are two four time members of the team, with Georgie Prespakis and Charlie Rowbottom having now made the team four seasons in a row. They have also been named captain and vice captain respectively of the 2024 team.
The AFLPA AFLW 22 Under 22 is an entirely fan voted team, and as such should not be used to predict who may or may not make All Australian Squad that will be announced next week.
