Back again for consecutive draft combine invites is West Adelaide ruck Oscar Steene, who was unable to test last year due to injury. The 201cm bigman kept his name in the draft conversation as an over-ager, competing at League and Reserves level in the SANFL. Steene represented Westies four times in the top flight before ending his season in the twos, having been one of South Australia's starting ruck options at last year's Under 19 National Championships.

Unsurprisingly, the 19-year-old's strengths are mostly to do with the aerial game. He has a decent leap and competes hard in the ruck all day, but is a relatively raw tall prospect in the way of production. Some of his best moments come in the way of eye-catching clunks at the highest point, where Steene's pure range and reach are simply superior to most at state league level.

Steene's 13 disposals, seven marks and 20 hitouts against North Adelaide in the League grade were among his best contributions for the year, particularly as he found his feet towards the back end. He'll need to be able to contribute more consistently and expansively around the ground, but has some nice traits to work with should he get a shot this time around.
