2023 ANZ Premiership | Round 5 preview: Repeat fixtures, repeat results?
ANOTHER weekend means another exciting round of ANZ Premiership, and as the competition heads towards the halfway point of the season, things are starting to spice up.
By the time this weekend is up, everyone will have played six games so there will be a solid idea of where everyone sits in the pecking order. Round 5 also sees a rematch of a number of fixtures from earlier in the season, so will history repeat or will a different result happen?
It is a big weekend coming up for both the Pulse and Mystics, who both have two clashes this weekend. Luckily for the Pulse, their two games are both at home. Unluckily for the Mystics, they have to travel twice.
The Mystics’ first game is in Dunedin tomorrow night when they face the bottom placed Steel. Back in Round 1 it was a comfortable win to the Mystics, but will things turn around this time for the Steel?
Match two of the weekend sees the Pulse kick off their big weekend with a match up against the Magic. In Round 1 these two sides fought out a one-goal thriller, so will it be the same again this time around?
Game three of the weekend is another top of the table clash, this time with the Stars hosting the Tactix. Back in round one it was a surprise win to the Tactix, which was the start of their much improved season to date. Havel the Stars have learnt from their Round 1 errors or will the Tactix do it again?
The weekend wraps up on Monday night with a match up between the Pulse and Mystics, who finish up their big weekend with a match up against each other. Unlike the other fixtures over the weekend, these two have not played each other yet this season, so there is no history to go off in this one. Both sides are currently sitting in the middle of the table not as high as they would want to be, so will be looking to change that this weekend.
