PREVIEW: Netball Super League Fast Five All Stars 2023
TONIGHT sees the return of the Netball Super League Fast Five All-Stars, after the tournament did not run in 2022.
Eight of the Super League’s teams – Team Bath, Leeds Rhinos, London Pulse, Saracens Mavericks, Surrey Storm, Strathclyde Sirens, Severn Stars and Manchester Thunder – will battle it out at London’s Copper Box Arena tonight for the title.
Even though the Celtic Dragons and Loughborough Lightning are not sending teams, that does not mean Lightning and Dragons players will not feature, with the likes of Rachel Dunn, Gabrielle Sinclair and Mary Cholhok having been recruited into some of the other teams especially for this tournament.
Bath are the reigning champions of the tournament, and will open this year’s edition against the Storm. The Thunder will then play the Sirens, followed by the Mavericks against the Stars and the Pulse against the Rhinos. How each of the teams do in their respective opening matches will determine their path through the tournament.
The Fast Five All Stars tournaments has a number of different rules that stray from the normal rules, including shortened quarters, five players a side and shots worth more than one point.
The Fast Five All Stars will begin at 5:30pm UK time, with the Grand Final set to conclude at 10:30pm.
