Rookie Me Central’s Collaborative 2022 AFL Women’s Top 50 Countdown: #13 Georgia Patrikios
IN a new exciting collaborative countdown, Rookie Me Central has teamed up with other independent media organisations to bring a 2022 AFL Women’s Top 50 Countdown. Every weekday from now until December 17, a new player will be named starting from 50th down to 1st, stemming from a combined eight Top 50 submissions. Among those who submitted Top 50s include Siren Sport‘s Gemma Bastiani, Women’s Australian Rules Football (WARF) Radio‘s Peter Holden, and a combined Outer Sanctum team’s Top 50.
Today we continue our countdown with number 13, St Kilda Women’s Georgia Patrikios.
* Note: The countdown was collated in October prior to the announcement of the AFL’s vaccination mandate policy. At the time of publishing, Patrikios was still an active player on St Kilda’s list and has not been put on the inactive list.

A highly touted youngster with the Calder Cannons and Vic Metro, Patrikios burst onto the scene in 2020 and did not waste time in showing the AFLW world what she could do on the big stage. Patrikios earned a Rising Star nomination in her debut game, and went on to finish equal third in the award with Kalinda Howarth. She also made the All-Australian squad in 2020 and won St Kilda’s Best and Fairest in the same year.
Her stellar form continued into 2021, as she broke several of her career stats records. One stat in particular that comes to mind is her disposals. After having an average of 20 disposals in 2020, she recorded 30 against West Coast in Round 9 this season, which is also at the time of writing, the club record at St Kilda.
She also continued to rake in the personal accolades in 2021, with earning her first All-Australian, second club best and fairest among her achievements.
In terms of this countdown, like many players up the top end of this countdown Patrikios was an unanimous choice among all who submitted a top 50, making everyone’s list. Some ranked her as high as fourth, while another ranked her as low as 48th. With an average rank of 18th and a median rank of 13th, she finds herself finishing in 13th in this countdown.
