Suns Academy jet Alana Gee was the standout player this past weekend, notching round-highs of 34 disposals and seven inside 50s as her side toppled the reigning NAB League premier. Gee was joined by Murray Bushrangers pair Zara Hamilton and Molly Kennedy atop the inside 50 charts, as they celebrated a 36-point win over Bendigo Pioneers.

Teammates of all three players also featured among this week’s stat leaders. Suns ruck Fleur Davies ended level with Tasmania’s Charlotte Vandenberg on 26 hitouts, with the latter also registering an equal competition high of 14 hits to advantage against Calder. Bushies forward Mindy Quade rounded out her side’s representatives, booting three goals in a feat matched only by GWV’s Tahlia Meier this week.

There was another record-equalling haul in Round 7, as Gippsland Power top-ager Alisha Molesworth laid a whopping 18 tackles to enter the history books. With ball in hand, Molly Walton used the ball by foot 26 out of 29 times to top the kicking charts, while Oakleigh star Jasmine Fleming flicked out an unbeaten 15 handballs. There was also some variety in the marking stakes, with Dandenong tall Mackenzie Eardley clunking seven to match the numbers of Calder utility Tahlia Read.

Looking at the overall leaderboard, and Murray’s Zarlie Goldsworthy now leads the league in four key categories; disposals, kicks, tackles and inside 50s. Montana Ham is now the leading handball getter, while Western teammate Caitlin Sargent has gone outright top of the goalkicking tally with 14.
