Deed racked up 35 disposals in what was the match of the round, but it was not quite enough to drag her Eastern Ranges over the line against Dandenong Stingrays. The Hawthorn AFLW signing also dished out the most handballs (18) alongside Sandringham gun Sofia Hurley, and now leads the league in both categories overall.

While no other player ticked up over 30 touches this past weekend, Greater Western Victoria’s Walton got closest. The defender-turned-midfielder notched a career-best 29 disposals, including an unmatched 23 kicks as she carried the ball forward with confidence.

Speaking of confidence, Zarlie Goldsworthy‘s authority was evident as she busted a gut to pull down nine marks for Murray in its one-point loss. That feat was matched by Geelong Falcons under-ager Sara Howley, who also had her work cut out in a defeat this week. Macie Gilmour was another in the same boat, having laid a high of 14 tackles as her Gippsland Power went down by 99 points.

Working in and out of either end of the ground most often were Octavia Di Donato and Erin Woodford. The former registered nine rebound 50s among her game-high 24 touches, while the latter managed 10 rebound 50s – making full use of her kick-in duties.

While the overall tally is getting tighter, one player stood alone atop the goalkicking charts in Round 6. That player was Sandringham speedster Zoe Barbakos, who wreaked havoc with four majors as her side compiled its highest-ever score. Elsewhere, Western ruck Krystal Russell again topped the hitouts, this time matched by Oakleigh’s Lucia Bancovich on 25.
