FORM

Subiaco boosted its percentage early with a crushing 95-point win over East Perth in Round 1, before competitive efforts against East Fremantle and West Perth the past fortnight. Since leading West Perth by a point at half-time of their Round 1 match, Peel Thunder has kicked 1.8 (14) in its past 10 quarters, going down heavily to both Swan Districts and South Fremantle.

TEAMS

CHANGES

Subiaco will gain a couple of key players back into the mix with ruck Tess Lyons, and Fremantle-listed Joanne Cregg both coming into the side. The Lions also recall Jess Pillera and Leila Rowe into the mix, with the likes of Charlotte Newland and Isabelle Starmer out.

The Thunder have made the two changes with Dakota Sexton and Kristen Rudler coming in for Jaya Ingram and Caitlin Cooper.

AFLW DRAFT TALENT

Marking forward Olivia Wolmarans has been tightly guarded on the scoring front since putting half a dozen goals past East Perth. She could well go head-to-head with Evie Cowcher in a battle of two of the most impressive bottom-agers.

Peel will look to the likes of Holly Britton, Sexton and Jorja Haines who are all capable of having crucial moments in matches.

KEY PLAYERS

Subiaco’s midfield that includes Krstel Petrevski, Madison Dodd and Eva Popovsky is on fire at the moment and will do well against an equally young Peel lineup. The defence that features Beatrice Devlyn and Maggie MacLachlan will make life difficult for the Thunder to score once again. Up the other end, Ebony Dowson and Cowcher provide consistent rebound, while onballer Ebony Bilcich will be crucial to assisting the younger players around the stoppage.

PREDICTION

Subiaco has too much experience, and gaining Lyons and Cregg will only add to that. The Lions have put in two competitive efforts against better sides the past fortnight, and if they can kick straight, should come away with the important four points against a rebuilding Peel Thunder side.
