PROFILE:

Jemma Charity might not have taken the field too often due to a devastating knee injury that put an immediate line through her season, but one does not have to go too far back to remember what she is capable of. Winning the Under 16s MVP a couple of years back in the intrastate Development Championships, and then making the All-Australian as a bottom-ager last season, the North Adelaide utility does have the runs on the board.

Starting as a forward and progressing to pinch-hit in the midfield, Charity found herself in defence for the Croweaters where she excelled as a reliable rebounding defender. She is a high ball retention player but does have the skills by foot to hit targets across all distances. Her kicking is the top-ager's greatest strength, while also being a sound decision maker and strong overhead mark.

Prior to her injury, Charity needed to further develop her speed - as she could tend to get caught at times - as well as improving her groundball work - but the class she possesses is rare. It is tough to put a draft range on a player who has not been able to show their wares, but she seems too good to be overlooked and should get a chance in the second half of the draft.
