2024 AFLW Offseason Tracker: Trade Period and Delisted Free Agent

IT IS now the busy part of the AFLW offseason, with the Trade Period and first Delisted Free Agency period running.

December 11

Pick trades

There were a pair of pick only trades on the final day.

Fremantle gave Richmond picks 31 and 45 in exchange for picks 34 and 38, while Carlton traded picks 56 to 59 to the Tigers in exchange for pick 45.

Clarke calls Moorabbin new home

Amber Clarke is now a Saint, with the forward heading to Moorabbin in exchange for pick eight.

Victorian Docker returns home

Airlie Runnalls has come home to Victoria, heading to Collingwood in exchange for pick 45.

Docker swaps coasts

Runnalls was not the only Docker to head to Victoria, with Ariana Hetherington heading to North Melbourne in exchange for pick 51.

Roo on the move again

Lulu Pullar has found herself a new club again, this time heading to Sydney in exchange for picks 49 and 51.

Multi clubs switcheroo

A four club deal has been confirmed involving two players and a number of picks.

Out of the deal:

  • Brisbane has gained pick 15 and 39 and given up picks 17, 35 and 53
  • Essendon has gained pick 35 and given up Ashleigh Van Loon and pick 47
  • Sydney has gained Van Loon and pick 51 for Ella Heads and pick 40
  • Port Adelaide has gained Heads and picks 17, 40, 47 and 53 for picks 15, 39 and 51

Tiger becomes Roo

In a move that may surprise some, Richmond has parted ways with midfielder Eilish Sheerin, trading her to North Melbourne for North Melbourne’s pick 18.

Three way trade confirmed

Adelaide, St Kilda and GWS have confirmed a trade which will see Grace Kelly head to Adelaide, Nicola Barr and pick 57 head to the Saints, and pick 52 head to the Giants.

December 10

Swan swaps coasts

One last trade late in the day saw Bella Smith traded to Fremantle for pick 49.

Hawk becomes a Pie

Break out Hawk Mattea Breed has flown the nest, traded to Collingwood with pick 26 for picks 22 and 28.

Power youngster crosses to other side of town

Hannah Ewings is now a Crow, with the youngster moving across town in exchange for pick 39.

Swan and Tiger swap places

Sydney and Richmond have finalised a very straight forward trade, swapping Imogen Brown and Montana Beruldsen.

Four-way trade sends players and picks on their way

The second multi club deal of the period has been finalised, with Hawthorn, the Western Bulldogs, GWS and Adelaide involved:

Hawthorn receive Najwa Allen and trade out Louise Stephenson

Western Bulldogs receive Lou Stephenson and pick 48 for Eleanor Brown and pick 43

GWS receive Eleanor Brown and Taylah Levy for pick 39

Adelaide receive picks 39 and 43 and trade out Najwa Allen, Tayla Levy and pick 48

December 9

Ex Giant moves across town

Jasmine Grierson has found a new home, with the Ex Giant, Roo and Dee now at her fourth club after having been picked up by Sydney as a Delisted Free Agent.

Suns skipper returns to Vic

Tara Bohanna is now a Blue, with the now ex Gold Coast captaining returning to her home state of Victoria. She and pick 56 have gone to Princes Park in exchange for pick 41.

December 7

Hawk becomes a Saint

Charlotte Baskaran has left Hawthorn and travelled south to Moorabbin to join St Kilda. She and pick 32 have headed to the Saints for picks 26 and 44 in return.

December 6

McGrath swaps coasts

Luckless ruck Elizabeth McGrath is on the move again, this time heading over to West Coast with pick 54, with pick 42 heading to the Roos in return.

Whopper trade number one

The first big scale trade of the week also got confirmed late in the day, with six clubs involved.

Gold Coast received: Lily Mithen and picks 19, 27, 30 and 46
Gold Coast gave: Picks 2, 20 and 38

Melbourne received: Picks 2 and 20
Melbourne gave: Lily Mithen and picks 10, 28 and 46

Adelaide received: Picks 12 and 48
Adelaide gave: Picks 16 and 34

Collingwood received: Picks 22, 28 and 45
Collingwood gave: Picks 19 and 37

Geelong received: Picks 16 and 37
Geelong gave: Picks 22, 27 and 45

Richmond received: Picks 10, 34 and 38
Richmond gave: Picks 12, 30 and 48

December 5

Coyne becomes a Hawk

Former Bulldog Keely Coyne has found a new home across town, with Hawthorn signing her as a Delisted Free Agent.

The now former Bulldog was initially drafted in 2022 before going on to play 12 games since season seven.

Unfortunately Coyne ruptured her ACL towards the end of the 2023 season and has not played a game since after missing all of 2024 and was subsequently delisted by the Bulldogs.

In a statement, Hawthorn said they were excited to welcome Coyne:

“Keely is a talented and skilful young player who we think will complement our exciting brand of football,” AFLW List Manager Keegan Brooksby said. 

“Having already experienced three seasons of AFLW, we think she will be a great fit in our backline and our club overall. 

“We’re looking forward to seeing what Keely can produce in the brown and gold.”

Cat becomes Swan

The first Trade of 2024 has also been approved, with Geelong trading Darcy Moloney to Sydney for its second round pick in this year’s draft.

Murphy heads south again

Now former Giant Courtney Murphy is on the move again, this time moving to Essendon after having been trading to The Hangar for pick 65.
